Our Lactation Counselor will address any of the following:

Latch assessing: checking the baby’s gape, watching how much areola is taken in, and listening for gulping and milk transfer
Breastfeeding holds: cross-cradle, football, laying down on the side, and others
Teaching for things to watch for: thrush in baby’s mouth and on nipples, breast and nipple defects and how to work with them, signs and symptoms of mastitis
Breastfeeding basics: sharing of information on how breastfeeding works, answering any questions or concerns face to face, breathing techniques and some stretches to help mom relax before a feeding session
