Familiarizing ourselves with the sights and sounds of homebirth can be a great way to prepare for birth. sharing these videos with partners and any attending family can be a way to educate them on things to expect.

Birthing outside the maternity system can and does look very different than the way the majority of women birth, how it looks on TV, and how your family members may have experienced it for themselves. Plus, it’s simply beautiful to watch!

Here, Destynie of Destynie Without Borders shows a bit of her own prenatal care as well as a clip of her laboring in her bathtub at home.

I love this one for the audio of the sounds Ashley makes in her contractions during what she calls Transition.

This one is Ariel’s birth, showing the very end of her labor all the way through the birth of her placenta. Note how calm and quiet everyone is after the baby emerges. Super important for protecting physiology and avoiding any issues between the birth of baby and placenta.

And really, just head over to Indie Birth on YouTube and watch their client videos! THIS is what birth looks like.
