Postpartum doula overnight support can be a game-changer for new parents. As a new mom or dad, the demands of caring for a newborn around the clock can be overwhelming. That's where an overnight postpartum doula comes in.

By providing overnight support and infant care, I can assist new parents in getting more rest, allowing them to care for themselves while the baby is cared for.

Overnight support can include tasks like feeding and diaper changes, soothing the baby back to sleep, and providing emotional support and guidance for the new parents… before you head to bed and through support time during the day via phone chats, video calls or even email/text! With the help of a postpartum doula, new parents can feel more confident and supported as they adjust to their new roles and learn to care for their little one.

Each package includes one scheduled appointment during the day, where the family can chat about..

  • their birth experience, what occurred, how each partner feels about what occurred

  • Infant feeding – breastfeeding or bottle feeding

  • Attachment parenting, infant bonding

  • Babywearing, baby soothing, infant care

  • Bedsharing and Co-sleeping

  • Postpartum mood disorders, including depression, anxiety and other symptoms

  • Postpartum nutrition for the new mother/parent

  • New mother care and physical recovery, including emotional support, birth debriefing

  • Light housework such as light meal prep, tidying a kitchen, laundry assistance

Are there additional holistic aspects of care?

In Western culture, unlike many other cultures around the world, new mothers do not have woman-centered, holistic traditions that support the mother and family in the postpartum period while she adjusts to the changes of life with a baby. But we did once, and it’s important to the well-being of the entire family that these things are accessible again.

Mothers need care, assistance, time to reflect, to talk about their birth stories and be heard without judgment or criticism.

Physical care and assistance can include…

  • Diastasis Recti (abdominal muscle separation) education

  • Belly Wrapping with a personalized, custom-made wrap which can include a candle-lit bath and warming belly oil application and tuck-in (see link)

  • Sitz Baths and Herbal Vaginal Steams for vaginal repair and healing

  • Herbal education and remedy preparation

  • Birth Trauma debriefing and support resources
