Whether it’s help with fertility and wellness issues or supporting you through your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey, working with a Traditional Birth Companion always provides non-judgmental and trauma informed support as you navigate through pregnancy, labor, birth and parenting. Using evidence-based information alongside wise woman, time-honored knowledge, it’s about the building of a relationship that always centers the pregnant woman, first and foremost.

This is your birth. No one will experience this birth, nor remember this birth, nor carry this birth with them the same way you will. Therefore, it’s your right to be in control, to have the support you need, to do all of this the way you feel is best for you and your baby.

I, Tamrha Richardson, am a Traditional, Family-Centered Birth Companion, a graduate of the Traditional Birth Companion course with Billie Harrigan, as well as a graduate of the Trauma Informed Professional course for perinatal providers. For over 16 years, I have served my community as Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula (CBI), Childbirth Educator (CBI) and former Homebirth Midwifery Assistant, supporting 270+ families. It’s important to me that you feel secure in your birth choices by first fostering a trusting relationship, with you and your needs at the center, while providing educational information, experience in physiological birth, offering a listening ear and a loving heart.

The goal is to clearly outline the options of expectant mothers and their partners, some they might not know they have, and to support their choices in every way possible. My mission is to ensure a knowledgeable experience with continuous support, advocacy and personal commitment during pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenthood helping families to give birth safely, on their terms, and without trauma. For the little one joining your family, the goal is to be born gently, safely and free.
