Virtual Doula Support Package
Why might one want a Virtual option?
Maybe you think what a doula can offer sounds great, but you don’t want an additional person in the room.
Maybe you prize your privacy and want as intimate an environment as possible.
Maybe doulas aren’t permitted to enter the hospital you’re birthing at.
Maybe you’re choosing Freebirth and yet still want to talk to someone who understands your choice and knows birth.
Maybe you’re not in Tamrha’s location but still want her for support.
Maybe this fits your budget better.
Maybe there’s another reason.
What does Virtual Support look like?
The support is just the same as an in-person client except it’s virtual! Other than your prenatal visits and labor support, should you choose that package, being virtual still provides you with information, education, emotional support and follow up.
How will you know how to help us if you aren’t physically present?
That’s a great question and one that I had originally. Before 2020, I never though virtual support (or remote support as we used to call it back in the day) was beneficial. How could i help if I wasn’t actually there?
Then April of 2020 came, and I learned by force.
I described it all in the blog post about my 200th birth where I assisted Bree, a first time mama and her husband in welcoming their little one. She also reflected about their personal experience with virtual support here.
Then there was my repeat client Jessica who reminded me that technically, she and her husband Steve had virtual support during her induction with twins! She provided a brilliant reflection here, while also discussing support through pregnancy loss before the twins came.
Both of them really explain it better than I can.
